How many days of the week do they work?

How much do they get paid?

  1. Denisedds - What is the difference between an invasive and a non-invasive cardiologist?
I have never heard of such a thing.

Most doctors are selfemployed and can work whatever hours they want. They have to be on staff at a hospital or two so they must be on call, but usually rotate with other doctors. How much they are paid depends on where they work (a doctor is a small town in Iowa is not going to make the same as a doctor in Los Angeles), the contracts they enter into and how much they work.

This is not a cancer question.

    EDIT: Cardiologists are NOT surgeons.

  2. Moderate Somber - A cardiologist who is a non-surgeon earns less than surgeons, but also sees and treats a lot more patients with medicine. If working for a hospital about $200,000 average, private practice will earn him/her more, but expenses are greater too. At a minimum they work about 10 hours a day and are usually on call when they are off one of the two days per week.

When a cardiologist determines an operation is required they send the patient to a cardiologist who is a surgeon.

  3. well wisher - Cardiologist is cardiac physician.
Interventional cardiologist is the right term for cardiologist performing invasive procedures, commonest being coronary angiography.
Almost each cardiologist is trained to do one or the other interventional(Invasive) procedure so non invasive cardilogist is only theiratical posibility,in practice they do neede procedures.
Their work hours and perk depend on experience/expertise,seniority and place of work.
