Going To Jail With Diabetes?

396545384 my brother has type 1, and hes going to jail real soon for drugs, last time he was only in jail for 3 days and he got sick and had to go to the hospital so we had to bail him out. this time he is serving 6 months and i dont know what to do. hes going to get very sick due to the fact they dont give him the ammount of insulin he needs.
please i really need help im worried, hes going in 2 days.....

  1. TheGrandMoofi - Looks like he didn't learn his lesson from the last time, oh well. Him going to the hospital last time should of been a deterrence from doing crime.

    He didn't harm anyone but himself
    I understand it's illegal but instead of punishing him they should help him and send to rehab
    Idk if it's heavy drugs or just pot
    Good luck but I think they will give him good treatment

Joey - they half too give , him the correct dosage too to take.they have a prison doctor on board. give them his up to date medical records. if this kid dyes while in there care then sue the0 f- out of them. do sent he even have a lawyer checking on his various medical needs threw his doctor medical evidences. something is wrong or this so called lawyer is sleeping behind a desk. strange these people know nothing.

  4. DB C - Get in touch with the County court that sentenced him, and get a response in writing that they will undertake to look after him. If you don't get a prompt response go higher,
    Always get a written response.
    Maybe look at getting a lawyer, if you can afford it.

  5. LT - Type 1, and on drugs... why worry now.... I'm surprised he is still alive, type 1 is serious without drugs. He needs help more than jail time but help will only work if he is willing to help himself. With type 1 I'd say he is in real trouble, but then he put himself there.
