Is This Possible To Happen?

396545116 My grandma has stage 4 liver cancer and went into a comma is it possible for her to wake up? She's been in a comma before like back in 2006 and woke up but I'm just wondering if it's possible for her to wake up?

  1. abijann - There are many cells in our body. Usually, a cell will divide in half to make a new
cell. However, some cells have gone crazy..and instead of just making one
cell, it keeps dividing and makin multiple of cells forming into a tumor.
Then this group of cells need more blood supply to keep multiplying and
living. When a tumor is formed, it can harm the other living cells around it...
damage them or even cause them to die off. When this happens, the
functions that are done by those cells to keep the body well, start to
deteriorate. One of those functions is to remove toxins from the body
and convert it into a non toxic form, that the body can easily dispose of.

Our body uses proteins all the time. When it uses the protein, a by-product
of ammonia is formed. The liver cells will take this ammonia from the blood
and convert it into urea, that will be picked up by the kidneys and removed
from the blood, to go out into the urine that is flushed from the body when
we urinate. However, now the ammonia is 'not' getting converted into
urea and staying in the blood. It goes pass the blood brain barrier and
into the brain. This can cause a patient to go into a coma, if the ammonia
is not somehow removed. [the condition is known as encephalopathy]

When someone has liver problems, whether it be from cancer or other reasons,
the liver isn't able to take toxins out of the blood the way it used to. Yes,
if the patient is started on certain medication to help remove some of the toxins
from the blood...they may wake up...but the problem with the liver may be
still there and as they get worse, they may slip back into the coma.

This is just one example that may be taking place. Only the doctors know
for sure what exactly is occurring with your grandmothers particular
medical conditions. But, this example will give you an idea of what may
be happening. Best wishes to you.
