  1. SCHUTZSTAFFELN - Haha i feel you. Buy a milkshake or some yogurt, it'll go away in a couple of days. Definitely get used to it though.

  2. Timothy - Easy snacks that don't require chewing. I recommend puddings, yogurts and applesauce. Chocolate milk and ice cream also help soothe the pain, because the coldness helps numb some the pain.

  4. Rebecca - My dentist suggested jelly, ice-cream, smoothie and soft foods. I know it seems like you can never eat again but trust me, you'll get used to it.

  5. Chris - No! Not hard!!! Go soft. Sooooft.

Anything really soft works. Here there is commonly a food that is rice boiled with a lot of water, it makes thick and easy to eat without chewing. many people eat it when sick. Some places they somehow make potatos into a very soft form. Maybe that is available where you are. Also there are many recipes for health shakes. You put foods into a blender until they are very smooth and you just drink it.

  8. Sue She - For starters, you should take some Advil or any painkillers (though I assuming you already know that). Try to eat things that don't require chewing such as soup, yogurt, ice cream, (not only does the cold soothe your pain, but it's also an excuse to get ice cream!) milkshakes (or you could blend up some fruits and make smoothies), any drinks, (colder is better) mash potatoes, and I think you know what I mean. When I first got my braces I didn't eat much since it only hurt for a few days, but it is important to get your daily nutrients so you could try things like Ensure (sort of like a healthy nutrition shake) or V8.
I hope I helped and good luck with your braces!
