If Baby Teeth Are Pulled Will Adult Teeth Come In Crooked?

396545381 My six year old's tooth is loose. Right now it isn't to the point where it's fully loose and ready to come out. So I'm leaving it alone to see if it comes out on it's own. But I was wondering for just in case purposes if it's extremely loose is it okay to pull it out? Or will her adult teeth come in crooked? Or should I just take her to a dentist if it bothers her to much? Thanks in advance.

  1. Cami - No I don't think so. Countless kids have done the old "tie a string around your tooth to the doorknob" trick. It's gone it makes no difference to the new guy

  2. normasue - Nope! I had 3 baby teeth pulled, I had 3 baby teeth capped, and a while back a dentist thought I had once had braces 'cause my teeth were so straight. Hah! Take that, dentists who swore I needed braces!. I never had any, and the only teeth that weren't straight were those grand ol' wisdoms. But in all seriousness if her teeth are really worrying you that much, you might want to take her to a dentist. Just remember that some can be unsrupulous. Oh! just remembered, if the baby tooth stays in there too long, it can mess up the adult tooth. My brother had a tooth that stuck out of his gum in the wrong place where the baby tooth didn't come out, but he had some other problems aswell.

  3. Dr Akhil - baby teeth become loose when their roots get resorbed by the underlying permanent tooth.
so if the baby teeth is loose and troubling ,its safe to pull it out But better to wait till it falls out itself, that way the child doesnot have to undergo traumatic experience at the dental office.

  4. Emily - My parents (or I) pulled all of my teeth. None of them just "came out" and my teeth were absolutely fine. I wouldn't worry about it at all. If anything, I would pull them. My brother had adult teeth come in over his baby teeth because he wouldn't let us pull them, and they were all sticking out and stuff.
