My Heart Beats Only 54 To 59 Beats Per Minute. Is It Normal?

396545385 I am doing aerobic exercises like walking, jogging & running for past 7 - 8 years. Some people say when you do more exercise, the heart muscles get harder and so the beats reduce, which is actually good. But I am a bit worried. Can any body help?

  1. Nthrax - Its actually good. Some people can even reduce more, even about 15-20 beats per minute(ppl who meditate and don't need extra oxygen for their body, or ppl who dive into water and try to beat record with holding breath. Your heart is well trained. Be glad :).

  2. Neil - Nothing to worry about, you have a good athletic beat-per-minutes rate.

And your Cardiovascular system becomes more efficient when you work-out, so it needs less beats to get the same results.
