I'm getting 3 cavities filled soon and I'm deathly afraid of needles and pain. My dentist said my cavities are small to medium-ish sized. I have a friend who had cavities filled with no Novocaine because hers were small and she said it doesn't hurt. Are mine small enough? Can I use the laughing gas or that gel stuff? PLEASE HELP! Is There Any Alternatives To Novocaine?
I'm getting 3 cavities filled soon and I'm deathly afraid of needles and pain. My dentist said my cavities are small to medium-ish sized. I have a friend who had cavities filled with no Novocaine because hers were small and she said it doesn't hurt. Are mine small enough? Can I use the laughing gas or that gel stuff? PLEASE HELP! victoria - I have the same problem. I got a tooth pulled a while ago & got laughing gas instead of novocaine. Your dentist can't force you to take the novocaine. Go with the laughing gas, it wears off shortly after you get home and you won't feel any pain. DON'T do the gel, that wears off while you're in the dentist chair, & you will be in pain for a majority of the fillings.
