  1. Felex Fff - There are no meters without blood, if you google your question you will see some scumbags entice you to click on a link that says that, even the Wilfred Brimley promoted site has that ad. Amazon, yahoo has it. It doesn't exist. There is the Dexcom but that shows trends not levels and it's painful to set up. There is alternate sight testing. You shouldn't be having that much trouble. go to my reference and I can help you.

  2. Gary B - No. You MUST have a fresh blood sample to measure BLOOD glucose level.

Sugar in the blood DOES NOT show up any place else. Actually, blood sugar DOES pass through your skin, but NOT at a constant, predicable rate. Readings taken of SKIN sugar are VERY inaccurate.

There used to be a device called a GlucoWatch. This device was supposed to be worn like a wrist watch, and it was supposed to measure sugar through your skin.

It was NEVER licensed to be sold in the United States -- Europe ONLY.

It proved to be so inaccurate that Europe banned it, and the company went out of business in 1999.

  3. Kai - There are "pokers" available with really tiny needles that are extra sharp so it's only a quick prick and it's over. I have a OneTouch Delica which is pretty easy and is less hurtful then when you prick your finger sewing and there's no after hurt. I just ordered an Accu-Chek Multiclix Device which comes preloaded with 6 needles--even smaller and sharper then the OneTouch. You might want to try one of these.
