Drinking Only Coffee?

396545382 A few questions on diet, coffee and the body.

1.) What does your body do to coffee? (ie. Is it just expelled out? Does black coffee get stored as fat/used for energy?)

2.) What would happen if you didn't eat for 8 months and drank 4 cups of coffee as your only intake?

3.) How long can a human physically survive with out food?

4.) On average what would the rate of weight loss be per week/month?

5.) How long until the nasty effects of starvation set in?

Thank you!

  1. Trish - This is bad overall. Never starve the body of the nutrients it needs to survive off of. If you want to lose weight stick to complex carbs, vegetables, healthy fruits, lean protein rich meats, fish.

GO ORGANIC! it truly makes a difference for a few extra dollars.

EXERCISE, you cannot lose weight by diet alone and keep it off.

If you do this coffee routine you probably will see drastic changes and in the long run you could develop serious health problems and force your metabolism to crash!

However, black coffee is the best way to go if you drink it.

Do you research on people who have starved themselves and you will see how the results aren't worth the headaches, stomachaches, and malnutrition

    GOOD LUCK!!!

  2. Jourdan - 1:its a short burst of energy. 2: you'll be dead. 3: 1-2 months maby a little longer. 4: after a wile of not eating your brain will put the body into servival mode, it will first eat the fat then the muscle then you die. So pritty fast. There is no amount because every one is diffrent. 5: it won't untill you develope a eating disorder.

  3. Helios - Nope - no calories in black coffee - and apparently now they think it has valuable anti-oxidants in it. And yes - you just crap it out.

If you didn't eat for 8 months? This must be the Auschwitz Diet. It will probably kill you.

You can probably live a month or more without food - but your body has to "EAT" - so it will eat your muscles - and it will eat your heart. You can end up actually losing heart mass and permanently injuring yourself from starvation. There comes a point of no return where it doesn't matter if you have food again - you aren't going to live.

They say the safe weight loss is one pound per week - and one pound is a LOT of calories - something like 3600 - so that's a lot of calories you DON'T eat when you're hungry.

Probably a week or two before you might not be able to get out of bed because of the stomach cramps from starvation. Starvation isn't real pretty, I guess. We don't see much in America anymore - lucky us!
