notme - I did marching band all four years in high school, and parade marched with a private drumline, and it keeps you active in shape, however I didn't notice any weight loss, if anything I would say it helps with breathing or builds muscle/indurance depending on what you play (I marched cymbals, bass drum and snare drum). Besides that, any weight or calories burned during marching certaintly come back to you with all the pizza and junk food and candy we ate at band meals lol. So in my opinion it isn't going to have any dramatic effects, but it certainly will keep you active, and give you something fun to do. :) Hope I helped.
