  2. Christian - Dandruff happens when people go to sleep and some homeless guys creams all over your hair and when you wake up, you have all this dried up sperm in your hair and it itches.

  3. CardinalsFan5 - Dandruff is dead skin cells from your scalp. Your skin cells do this all over your body but can be more noticeable on your scalp if you have a darker hair color or if it falls around the collar of your shirt. This may also be a case of Psoriasis.

  4. Lady Rose - Dandruff is actually an inflammatory scalp disease, unrelated to dryness.
    Dandruff is a build-up of too much oil on the scalp.
    When excess oil is generated by the glands at the base of the hair follicles, a person can end up with dandruff.
    The flakes associated with dandruff are the shedding of this excess oil combined with dead skin cells from the scalp.

    Some of the common triggers for dandruff can include;
    - improper diet
    - high caloric food intake
    - excess stresses in life
    - chronic tension
    - malfunctioning body system
    - wrong shampoos for condition

    Do not over-wash your hair. Try only washing it every other day, so the natural oils have a chance to replenish without over-producing.

    Try using a shampoo with salicylic acid as the first ingredient, also containing zinc or selenium sulfide to eliminate flakes.

    If you use hair conditioner, only use it on the ends of your hair. Never apply it close to the scalp. Conditioner can actually create further build-up on the scalp and clog the hair follicles.

    Drink more water. Water re-hydrates from the inside out. As well, drinking water helps to wash out the toxins in your body.

    Try increasing your intake of vitamin D through supplements (1000 – 4000 IU/day) and B-complex to aid in healthier skin and maintaining a healthier immune system.

    There are also some home-remedies for reducing dandruff...
