What Does "heart Holding Blood" Mean?

396545385 Long story short, a relative was just admitted to the hospital. All I really know about her condition is that she spoke to another relative and told him that her heart was holding blood and that she has to have a stint put in, but that's all the information I have. What condition could cause this to happen?

  1. Lady EMT - Many conditions can cause it. Basically, what's happening is the cardiac output is less than the cardiac input. So blood is going into the heart, but less if that blood is coming out. A stent will help even out the flow of blood in and out of the heart.

Good luck to your family. Modern medicine has come a long way. :)
