What Are The Signs Of Anaphylactic Shock?

396545383 I'm terrified of getting it- I ate some foreign food about two hours ago that gave me bad acid reflex. It didin't bother me and first but now I have moderate lung conjestion and dry throat and I hear those are bad signs. I see just fine, and my pulse is a little up from my anxiety disorder. I can breath but it aches a little to breath super deeply?

Am I okay?? Should I go to the hospital.

  1. R T - Swelling, your throat closing off and difficulty breathing.

If you were going into anaphylaxis, you would have died already. The reaction usually takes place within about 10 minutes of contacting the allergen (usually sooner). Many people with severe allergies carry an Epi Pen because the onset is so quick, they don't have time for EMS to arrive.

  3. Zelda - Anaphylactic shock, as is any shock, quite dramatic in presentation: fainting-unconscious, low bp and high pulse, disorientation, facial swelling, hives, difficulty swallowing with shortness of breath. If you believe you are having a severe allergic reaction immediately take 50 mg benadryl and get to the er asap.
