Debra - Place an ice bag on the outside of your sore cheek. Take some ibuprofen. Elevate your head on some pillows. Suck on ice chips, sip on cold fluids. Stay away from salty foods and citric acid foods. Keep your mouth clean to help prevent infection.
The lining of the cheek, called a mucous membrane, heals faster than most other tissues. If your cheek gets swollen, red or painful, suspect an infection and get prompt treatment.
Ipsa Koehler - You can put some analgesic gel over it for some relief. You can also do warm saline rinses to reduce chances of infection there. Vitamin supplements may fasten the healing process of the cut. Avoid taking too hot and chilly food.
. - take paracetamol (panadol) to sooth the pain. rinse your mouth with cool boiled water mixed with lots of ordinary salt (it'll make your cut heal very quickly cos salt kills bacteria)
