How To Relieve My Allergies :/?

396545383 I have been getting really bad allergies lately, my eyes have been getting really itchy and watery and then i rub them so much that it hurts to blink. When I wake up in the morning i get a TON of sleep but it dries and gets crusty so I can't even open my eyes without scraping it all off first and it hurts really badly to get it off. My eyes also get really puffy and my eyes get really small but it stays like that almost all day. What kind of medicine can i take to help my allergies?!

  3. Chalida - Allergies are the results of an immune system run amok. They develop when your immune system overreacts to a normally harmless substance, such as pollen, cat dander, or dust. Most triggers, called allergens, stimulate the immune system through four basic routes: ingestion (eating peanuts or shrimps), injection, absorption through the skin (touching poison ivy), and inhalation (breathing in cat dander). Not sure if the inhalation triggers your alergies. If it's the case and you want relief from inhalant allergies, find root causes and get rid of them (house dust, pollen, pet dander, and mold are the most commnon triggers).

Consult your doctor for a proper medicine.

For my case, I use "TELFAST 60 mg, one tablet after breakfast and dinner".

  4. Stoked - Most people associate allergies like hay fever with external triggers like pollen or dust, but the cause is usually a food allergy. Your best bet is to find out what you’re allergic to and avoid it. Make your own observations and pay close attention to symptoms. Try an elimination diet, and keep a food diary - it’s a slow process, but finding the cause of my allergies changed my life. Cut out all foods that commonly cause allergies for two weeks, ie Dairy, soy, nuts, wheat, shellfish. If you still have symptoms after cutting those food out, cut out any other foods you suspect. If you are symptom free after two weeks, gradually start adding those foods back to your diet. If your symptoms return after you have started eating something, then you know that is the cause. Dairy is a very common cause of allergies, it produces mucus and is very hard on your respiratory system. My chronic allergies are 100% better since I eliminated dairy from my diet. When cutting it out remember it’s not just milk, any cheese or anything cheese flavoured, ice cream, butter, chocolate etc. Also be patient as symptoms can take a few hours or days to appear or disappear. Also avoid other things that trigger allergies - highly scented products like perfume, spray deodorant, fabric softener. Antihistamine and allergy eye drops will also help reduce your symptoms.
