  2. McGee - Walking will definitely help. But you need to correct the underlying cause of your cholesterol. Medications don't do this - they only relieve the symptoms.

The underlying cause of cholesterol is dehydration. Somewhere along the way you're not drinking enough water. Dehydration turns the blood acidic. It happens because salt is an important nutrient that removes the toxins from the body. When you're dehydrated you're also salt deficient and toxins have built up in the body and blood.

This acidic blood is pumped through the arteries under a shearing pressure that damages the lining of the arteries with tiny cuts and abrasions. To prevent this damage from peeling off and causing an embolism in the brain or other organ the body produces the so-called "bad" cholesterol to cover and protect the damage like a waterproof bandage until it can heal. Thus, cholesterol is a life saving substance.

But the medical profession doesn't understand about the role of water in the body so they don't recognize dehydration as the source of health problems. So the dehydration goes untreated and the damage from the acidic blood continues. This triggers the production of more and more cholesterol until it becomes a problem in itself.

Lowering your cholesterol is as simple as increasing your water and salt intake. The page found through the link below will instruct you on how to treat for dehydration properly.

Bear in mind that there is no overnight fix. Medications may work quicker to relieve the symptoms, but they don't correct the underlying cause. If you opt for the medications you will probably be on them for the rest of your life. Correct the underlying problem and you won't need medication.
