when you first get them try cheese and potato pie its really yummy and easy to eat.
try not to drink ice cold drinks as you teeth will be quite sensitive.

  2. Sundeep - Try not to chew gum it gets stuck and is very very annoying pulling it out your brace, dont have to much choclate it will cover the brace and your mouth will not look nice, pro tips: brush after EVERY meal or snack when u can. ( on average about 3 times a day or more) rinsh your mouth after meal if you cant brush with water and swallow.

  3. Shelby - You're not "supposed" to eat whole apples, caramel, sugar gum, more than 1 soda a week, and extremely hard foods. But, I have braces, and I have eaten ALL of those things without problems:) I wouldn't worry about it to much. It's nowhere as bad as everyone makes it out to be. You will just be sore for a few days.

  4. Ellen - Enjoy anything really chewy, hard or generally difficult to eat now, because from experience your teeth ache a little for a day or two after getting train-tracks (nothing to really worry about though), and it's more comfortable to eat soft things like soup and spreads the day you get them.

After a week or two though you can really just eat as you would normally to be honest.

  5. Who Knows - When you get your braces your teeth will probably be a lot more sensitive and it might hurt a little to chew things. With things like a roll with a hard crust you'll have to tear it into pieces before eating because it's a lot harder to bite bits off with your teeth. You won't be able to bite into an apple (you have to cut it into slices) and you'll be advised to avoid chewing gum. Otherwise you should be able to eat anything you want, it just might take longer if you have to tear it into bits or have to eat more carefully due to sensitive teeth.
Don't worry about it too much though. After a while your teeth will become less sensitive and you can almost eat normally (except for things like apple, chewing gum as mentioned above)
You'll have to regularly go to routine check ups/resettings of the braces to change the wires/tighten them, after each re-setting your teeth will feel a bit sensitive while they're adapting to the change in pressure, but it gets better each time.
