Bad Bruising With Injections..?

396545384 I'm a type 1 diabetic and have been for 11 years. The past month I have been getting TERRIBLE bruises from my insulin injections worse than I've ever experienced. I'm still using the same type of syringes and same brand of insulin as I've always used and have no idea what is causing this???

  1. J B - Do you aspirate before injecting your insulin? You are probably hitting tiny vessels/capillaries and they are bleeding beneath the skin which is what is causing this. Pick your sites more carefully. But, you should also talk with your family doctor about this, just in case you need your blood checked to make sure everything is OK.
